Retirement money · an IRA

An IRA: the same mixes, with room for the stocks our model rates.

61% of households with a traditional IRA hold money rolled over from a work plan. An IRA can hold any fund or stock on this site, so the same three mixes apply in full, and the stock share is filled only when the model says Buy now.

How the stock share works

The stock share is a fixed part of each mix, 10 to 30% in the examples. It holds the names our model rates Buy now, equal weight, bought in the week they are rated and reviewed when the rating changes. When nothing is rated Buy now, the share sits in SPUS, not in cash and not in a name the model did not clear. This week the model says Wait, so the sleeve is in SPUS. 3 names are rated Buy on a dip with the level that would change that; they are on the stocks page.

That rule is the whole point. The stock share gives you the upside of the model's calls without ever asking you to decide what to buy on your own.

Three years of weekly closes with distributions reinvested, to October 16, 2026. Each fund carries an issuer Shariah certificate; the issuer and date are on the retirement page.

Rollovers, and the tax point that matters

If you left an employer, the old plan's balance can move to an IRA without tax, by direct rollover, and the IRA has no fund list to fight. Ask the old plan for a direct rollover to the new custodian; do not take a check made out to you.

Foreign stocks pay dividends with tax withheld in some countries, and inside an IRA that tax cannot be claimed back. The card for each rated name says where the company is based.

What this is not

Not a recommendation for you. The mixes are examples by risk tolerance, the same for every reader, and the sleeve follows published rules. The source for the 61% is the Investment Company Institute's IRA owners survey, mid-2025.

Education, not personal advice. The example mixes are the same for every reader and describe nobody's situation. Every number carries its date.
